Father

Sukumaran, father of Prithvi's was one of the leading actor in Kerala.
Early life
Sukumaran was born in Edappal, Kerala as the elder son of Parameshwaran Nair and Subhadramma. He had a brother and two sisters. Sukumaran concentrated on his studies in the earlier days. He earned a job as a college lecturer after completing his Masters degree.

Career
During his tenure as lecturer in English, in Scott Christian College, Nagercoil, ( Madhu also became an actor while working in the same college) he got an offer to act in Nirmalyam, dirceted by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. He accepted the role of a defiant youngster in the film. The film went on to win accolades from all over and won a couple of National Film Awards as well. Despite being noted, Sukumaran didn't get any offers for some time since Nirmalaym. He was thinking of returning to his old profession, when he got an offer in Shankupushpam. With that film, Sukumaran carved a niche for himself in the Malayalam film industry. He then went on to act in meaty roles in films like Avalude Ravukal, Angadi, Bandhanam, Etho Oru Swapnam, Manasa Vacha Karmana, Ahimsha, Spodanam, Salini ente koottukari, Angakkuri, Kolilakkam, Theekkadal Sandarbam, Witness, and Kottayam Kunjachanan. His role as a defiant police police officer in Oru C.B.I. Diary kurippu and its sequel Jagratha, directed by K. Madhu was noted for its characterisation and earned cult status when the third sequel in the series Sethuramaiyer C.B.I. had Saikumar portraying the son of the police officer, with the mannerisms and voice tone of Sukumaran. Sukaumaran won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor in 1978 for his role in Bandhanam. Sukumaran married fellow actress Mallika Sukumaran. They have two sons, both malayalam filmstars in their own right: Indrajith Sukumaran and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Sukumaran had his own production company. The company produced acclaimed films like Irakal and Padayani. The film Irakal, directed by K. G. George was selected for the Indian Panorama in the IFFI. His last film was Shibiram, directed by T.S. Suresh Babu. Sukumaran died on 16 June 1997.

Mother

Mallika Sukumaran, mother of Prithvi's is one of the leading actress in Kerala.
Wife of the late actor Sukumaran, Mallika had started her acting career in 1974 in Aravindan's `Utharayanam.' Her plunge into filmdom was impulsive and she soon realised the difficulties of making it big in Kollywood. Later, she married Sukumaran and left the silver screen. After Sukumaran's death, Mallika, much to the relief of her sons, refused to be cocooned in gloom.
Mallika made a comeback in `Peythozhiyathe,' a serial directed by K.K. Rajeev. She donned the character of a sister and a doting aunt. One of the young actors, Poornima Mohan, later became her daughter-in-law in real life.
Mallika took care to see that she was not typecast as the sister in all her serials. She showcased her versatility as an actress in serials such as `Valayam,' `Snehadooram,' `Sthree Oru Santhwanam,' `Porutham' and so on. Her outstanding performance in `American Dreams' as an elderly lady offering solace and support to the members of an Indian family in the United States won her the Film-TV Critics' award. She also insists on doing her own dubbing.
"Expression and voice must go together to emote effectively," she maintains. As she extols the virtues of her daughter-in-law, it leads to the question, `Is she another Chandramathi?'
She laughs and takes you to watch her little granddaughter `Prarthana' sleeping. One becomes conscious of her new role - of a proud grandma.
HER INNATE sense of humour is evident when she speaks or acts. Her roles in the Seventies in films such as `Hello Darling' and `Penn Pada' with the leading comedians of those days such as Adoor Bhasi and Bahadur stand out. And now Mallika Sukumaran dons the role of Chandramathi in a serial that is different from the sob stories that dominate the small screen. She plays a possessive mother-in-law who tries to browbeat her daughter-in-law, Indumukhi.
Right from the title song, the serial takes a dig at the mother-in-law-daughter-in-law relationship. "The response has been very positive," says Mallika gleefully. Her actor sons Indrajith and Prithviraj had called her to convey the lavish praise they have been receiving on her behalf, she says.
"The rapport among the members of the set is a major factor for the success," she says.

Brother

Indrajith, brother of Prithvi's is one of the leading actor in Kerala.
A Sainik School alumnus, Indrajith had his degree in Computer science from Rajas Engineering College, near Nagercoil. He joined Nexage as a software personal before going into acting, where he first appeared in a television film Annie. He is married to actress Poornima Mohan. They have a daughter named Prarthana.
He debuted in the film Ooomappenninu Uriyadappayyan directed by Vinayan. He was noted for his villain role in the blockbuster Meesamadhavan, directed by Lal Jose. He has recently debuted in Tamil.
He acted alongside Mohanlal in Anwar Rasheed's Chotta Mumbai and Shaji Kailas's Baba Kalyani. His performance as the villain in Baba Kalyani was acclaimed by critics. He also acted in Lal Jose's superhit Arabikatha and Santhosh Sivan's first Hollywood movie Road to the Top. He paired with his brother Prithviraj Sukumaran in several films including the 2006 blockbuster Classmates (film).
